This goal is achievable due to PB Tech's state-of-the-art conveyor belt system, built to boost accuracy and parcel processing speeds from our warehouse to delivery – as observed through its 'sushi train' and two-layer circular confirmation process design, which spans our large warehouse.
The confirmation process (as pictured above) has made it easier for our warehouse staff to track parcels throughout their journey, as it remains on a two-layer closed loop. If a parcel is missed on this track, it will circulate through the conveyor belt a second time.
The conveyor belt threads through multiple points of the warehouse, often scanned through by various staff members at each station to reduce the risk of machine or human error during the parcel journey.
“In 2023, our Manukau warehouse would roughly dispatch 6000-8000 parcels daily. This design upgrade ensured that our commercial customers will always receive their items with complete accuracy,” says PB Tech General Manager of Demand Planning and Logistics Janet Fan.
“The conveyor belt design was implemented in 2023 to scale up operations in line with PB Tech's business growth,” says Fan.

Processing speeds have increased by 50% compared to the confirmation process of our old conveyor belt, minimising order delays. For business customers who order stock in bulk, their items are less likely to be separated during the confirmation process.
“The average commercial customer orders 5 to 50 units of stock, depending on their business size,” says PB Tech Head of Managed Services Brett Wellington.
“Delays for in-stock items are unusual, and our customers quickly ask what happened. Customers often place orders close to deadlines because they trust PB Tech to deliver in a pinch,” says Wellington.
